Last Monday, 13th February, 21 Maclean High student drove the arduous trip to Woodenbong for the Northern Rivers Zone Selection Trials for the 15 years Touch Football competition. Both the boys and girls played four games each against other schools in our area including, Evans River, Woodenbong, Alstonville, Kyogle and Casino. Both girls and boys were highly successful in their games and this enabled many of our students to display their skills and talent for the selection process.
After the 4 games and a possible and probable selection game. The following students were selected in the zone teams: Mia Wright, Evie Wright, Jorja Mainey, Romaney Berry (Jade Moffitt –reserve), Julian Torrens, Brian Quinlan-Randall, Tye Eamens-Gardiner. These students now compete against the three other North Coast zones for selection in the North Coast team next Thursday 9th March in Murwillumbah.
Congratulations to these students on their selections and a big thank you to all the students who represented Maclean High on the day for their positive attitudes and great sportsmanship. I look forward to taking these students in future teams at Maclean High
