As part of Maclean High School's involvement in the Mareeba Intergenerational Program, year 9 boys participating in the PDHPE Dance program recently performed for the residents and they did a brilliant job.
Well done to Finn O'Neill who introduced the boys and gave a brief introduction to the residents about the changes to Maclean High's Dance program.
The boys were very nervous and unsure how loud they should be, however, staff assured the boys ‘the louder the better'. At the end of their performance the boys mingled and chatted to the residents.
The benefits were many for both the young and the elderly. It certainly promoted an understanding and respect between the generations through enjoyment, laughter and socialisation.
