Both Crystal and Gemma competed in a total of eight races each to reach the final in all of the races in which they were entered. Both competed in composite crews comprised of girls from a number of different clubs, which made training preparations for the Australian Championships a challenge.

Congratulations to both Crystal and Gemma for achieving a third placing in the country in two events each.

Crystal and Gemma had previously both been selected for the North Coast Academy of Sport 2016 – 2017 Rowing Program.

Leah Saunders is a current elite athlete. She has represented Australia at numerous World Rowing Championships. Most recently, on March 17th this year, Rowing Australia selected Leah as a member of the Women's Sculling Squad for the 2017 Senior Rowing Team – World Rowing Cups 2 & 3.
